Pre-Race Exclusive Interview

This week, Olivia and Jevaun are in Germany, getting the latest news from the paddock in preparation for the next race on the VTM calendar.

Race 8 brings us to the Nürburgring, one of the most infamous circuits in the world. Whilst we won’t be sampling the extent of the Nordschleife, teams will still have to navigate the twists and turns of the GP circuit.

Here’s what happened when they met up with the drivers from Venturi Racing on Media Day.

Olivia: Hello, everyone, and welcome to a special edition of the HatchSport.de podcast! I'm Olivia Hellström, and alongside me is the incredible Jevaun Brown. Today, we have two special guests from Venturi Racing, Scott and Josh. We're here on media day, just before their VTM race at the Nürburgring. How's the atmosphere in the Venturi camp today?

Scott: Hi guys! It's a mix of anticipation and determination. We've been addressing the challenges we faced at Spielberg and are looking forward to a better showing here at the Nürburgring.

Josh: Absolutely, Scott and I have been working closely with the team, and there's a positive energy heading into this race. Spielberg was good for me, but we know Nürburgring is a different beast.

Jevaun: Scott, let's dive into Spielberg a bit. You faced difficulties with the car setup and changing conditions. How has the team worked to address those issues coming into Nürburgring?

Scott: Spielberg was a tough one for me. The changing conditions caught us off guard, and we struggled to find the right setup. We've been meticulously reviewing the data, and the team has made adjustments to ensure we're better prepared for the unpredictable weather conditions here.

Olivia: Adaptability is key, especially with the unpredictable weather. Josh, you had a solid race at Spielberg, earning a good points haul. How do you plan to carry that momentum into Nürburgring, and what aspects have you been focusing on during your preparations?

Josh: Spielberg was positive, but each race is unique. We've been analyzing what worked well there and how we can apply those learnings to Nürburgring. Consistency is crucial in motorsport, so maintaining that momentum is a priority for me.

Jevaun: Looking ahead to Nürburgring, the weather seems promising, but as we know, anything can happen. How does the potential for changing weather conditions impact your race strategy?

Scott: Nürburgring is notorious for its unpredictable weather. We've got contingency plans in place, and the team is ready to adapt the strategy on the fly. It adds an extra layer of challenge, but we're well-prepared.

Josh: Flexibility is key, especially in these conditions. We've studied the forecast, but as you said, nothing is certain. Being able to make quick decisions during the race will be crucial.

Olivia: With the Nürburgring's challenging layout, how do you approach finding the right balance between pushing the car to the limits and avoiding potential risks?

Josh: Nürburgring demands a delicate balance. We've been fine-tuning the setup to ensure the car is responsive while maintaining stability. The key is finding that sweet spot between pushing hard and staying in control.

Scott: Absolutely. It's about calculated aggression. The Nürburgring's combination of fast straights and technical sections requires a well-balanced approach to maximize performance without compromising safety.

Jevaun: Well, we wish both of you the best of luck this weekend at the Nürburgring. It's been a pleasure having Scott and Josh from Venturi Racing on the HatchSport.de podcast. We'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!

Scott: Thanks, Olivia and Jevaun! We appreciate the support. Looking forward to hitting the track and putting on a strong performance for Venturi Racing and our fans.

Josh: Absolutely. Let's make it a great race weekend!

We’ll be posting updates and reviews on everything that happens during Qualifying and the Races, so stay tuned for more content!
